Generation No. 2
2. August "Gust"2 Arendt (Johann1) was born August 15, 1867 in Poland, Russia (Source: Milwaukee County Court, Department of Old Age Assistance.), and died Bef. 1926 in Wauwatosa (Milwaukee), Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He married Mathilda Roda August 1891 in Poland. She was born 1874 in Poland, Russia, and died Abt. 1925 in Siberia, Russia. Notes for August "Gust" Arendt: According to Kathleen and Louis Arndt (Sept 23, 2003) and family info passed down, there were no brothers, sisters of His Grandfather August nor of his father Louis that came to the Wauwatosa/Milwaukee area. In fact, it's believed that August's wife Mathilda Roda didn't come either (died in Russia?). The 1910 Federal Census for Milwaukee Ward 20 on Wright Street lists a Gustav Arendt age 42 (1867/8), occupation, tannery, living with wife Angeline, age 47 (1863), and a daughter Emma, age 18 (1892) born in Wisconsin. While Gustav is German, emigrating in 1890 and Angeline, also German born, emigrating in 1880. Could this be the same Gustav, coming and then going back to Russia/Germany to possibly remarry after Angeline and/or Emma dies?

3. Louis3 Arndt (August "Gust"2 Arendt, Johann1) was born November 15, 1891 in Russia (Source: Milwaukee County Court, Department of Old Age Assistance, Gustav gives birth of Louis as of Sept 1902.), and died July 03, 1927 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Source: Coroner's Reports, Inquest Date: July 12, 1927, Box #724, Milwaukee Co. Historical Society archives.). He married Lillian (Juds Yutz) Jutz Abt. January 1918 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of Emil Jutz and Ann ?. She was born January 17, 1896 in Wisconsin (Source: 1920 Federal Census, Lillian's age is 23.), and died January 22, 1929 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Notes for Louis Arndt: 1920 Census says Louis immigrated in 1913 and was 25 yrs old, which would place birth year in 1894. An Emil Peltzer bds with family, age 47 and he's from Germany also immigrated in 1913 (?). According to Louis Arndt, his father Louis had a still in his basement during prohibition. He made it clear that his father made moonshine. But why would he travel to Bark Lake in Washington County on the day of his death? To pick up supplies, apparently not to go fishing or work related. More About Louis Arndt: Died 2: July 03, 1927, Car accident in West Granville, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Hwy 41 approx 6:10 am. Admitted to Emergency Hospital, Milwaukee at 7:15am, pronounced dead at 7:55am by Dr. E. T. Harrington. Died of fractured skull and internal injuries. Died 3: July 03, 1927, On the way to Bark Lake, Louis pushed down on his friend's foot to accelerate around some traffic, also turned steering wheel which caused loss of control and car tipped over. Burial: July 06, 1927, Wanderers Rest Cemetery (now Lincoln Memorial), Lot 18, Blk 2, Section 12, Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Census: 1920, Town of Wauwatosa, Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Source: 1920 Federal Census, ED# 321, page 5A, #67-89, State St., Wauwatosa, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Image 0625 on Ancestry.com.) Occupation 1: Bet. 1918 - 1927, Allis Chambers, West Allis, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Occupation 2: 1920, Crane Operator (Source: 1920 Federal Census.) Occupation 3: Abt. 1925, Sold bootleg liquor to help support family. Truth? He may have wanted to buy illegal liquor the day he died by asking his friend Emmerich Krebs to drive him to Bark Lake (Washington Co.), perhaps for 4th of July Celebration the next day? Occupation 4: 1926, Carpenter (Source: Milwaukee City Directory (formerly Town of Wauwatosa).) Residence 1: Center City, 48th & State Residence 2: 1926, living at 332 W. 47th St. (Source: Milwaukee City Directory (formerly Town of Wauwatosa).) Notes for Lillian (Juds Yutz) Jutz: Son Louis Arndt tells of how relatives (Jutz) came into the house after his mother died in Jan 1929 and took furs, jewelry, furniture, etc. If it wasn't for his grandmother (then Ann Rolli) the children may have been separated by relatives taking older siblings Fred and Florence because they were old enough to work but Louis and Dorothy weren't. grandma wouldn't allow this to happen for approx four yrs (1929 - 1933?) until she couldn't support them anymore and they went into the orphanage. The relatives didn't get everything, when the children reached the age of 21 (?) they each received $1,100 from a trust fund (possibly setup by court probate ?). More About Lillian (Juds Yutz) Jutz: Burial: Wanderers Rest Cemetery (now Lincoln Memorial), Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Emigration: 1886, Germany to U.S. (Source: 1930 Federal Census.)
