Death of Mrs. Campbell

Well Known Sussex Lady Passes Away at Her Home

Sussex, Nov. 15th. - Mrs. Louisa Campbell, aged 69, widow of Thomas Campbell, a pioneer of the county, died last Monday night at her home at Sussex after an illness of three months.

Mrs. Campbell, nee Louisa Win, was born at Lockport, N. Y. Her marriage to Mr. Campbell at Guelph, Can., in 1855. They came to this country in 1863 settling in the Town of Lisbon, where the rest of their life was spent. Mr. Campbell died about six years ago. She is survived by one son, D. R. Campbell, postmaster at Sussex.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the residence, Rev. Roberts, rector of St. Alban's Episcopal church at Sussex, officiating. Interment will take place at the Sussex cemetery. Waukesha Freeman, November 16, 1905

Waukesha Freeman, November 27, 1890 - Mr. Campbell has rented his blacksmith shop to John Madison and is going to move his family to town.

February 12, 1891 - Mr. Campbell is coming back to resume his duties in the blacksmith shop the first of March. Everyone will be pleased to have him back again.

April 30, 1891 - Mr. Rea has purchased the house and lot owned by Mr. Campbell, and will soon occupy the same.

Waukesha Freeman, May 31, 1906 - The funeral of Wm. Campbell of Manistee, Mich., uncle of D. R. Campbell, was held at Merton Saturday afternoon. Rev. Mr. Hauf, pastor of the M. E. church here [Sussex], officiated.

Merton - The remains of William Campbell of Marquette, Mich., a former resident of this village, were brought here on Saturday for interment. Funeral services were held from the M. E. church, Rev. Mr. Hoff officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery east of the village besides those of his three children, who preceded him in death several years ago. The deceased is a native of Scotland, and aged 66 years. He is survived by a wife and three sons, Donald, and Harry of Michigan and Chas. of Kenosha. Waukesha Freeman, May 31, 1906

Mrs. William Campbell, of Milwaukee, spent several days of last week

visiting with her many friends in Merton. Waukesha Freeman, Ocotber 27,

1892

Waukesha Freeman, May 16, 1907, page 5 of 8 - Merton: The remains of

Mrs. William Campbell of Marquette, Mich., a former resident of this

village, were brought here on Friday. Funeral services were attended at the

M. E. church of which she was at one time a member. On account of

illness of the pastor, Rev. Mr. Heywood, the services were conducted by Rev.

Mr. Shanks of Menomonee Falls. The deceased is survived by three sons,

Donald, of Milwaukee, Charles, of Kenosha and Harry of Marquette. At

the time of here death, she was a guest of her son, Charles, and family,

and was stricken with pneumonia with the sad result. One year ago the

same sad services were rendered over the remains of her husband. Much

sympathy is felt for the bereaved children.

Mrs. Margaret Campbell, widow of the late William T. Campbell, a former

resident of Merton, died Wednesday at Kenosha, while on a visit to her

son. The body arrived at Hartland yesterday and was taken to Merton,

where funeral services were held at the Methodist church. Mrs. Campbell

was 61 years of age. She was a native of Scotland. Her husband died a

year ago and was buried at Merton. Three sons survive: Donald J., of

Milwaukee, Charles W., of Kenosha; and H. A. of Marquette, Mich.
