http://lots-trains.org/html/2002_convention_car.html
Lionel Operating Trains Society (L.O.T.S.) is pleased to recall this moment in
time by offering the colorful Schlitz reefer as our 2002 Convention Car.
The Schlitz family played a major role in the development of refrigerated
boxcars by forming the Union Refrigerator Transit Company in 1895. Although
Schlitz closed its Milwaukee facilities in the 1970's, it is most often
associated with this great Wisconsin city. Milwaukee, site of our 2002
convention, has a rich history as a leader in the brewing industry which makes
the Schlitz reefer a uniquely appropriate choice. This wood-sided
car will be an all-Lionel product and will feature die-cast sprung trucks,
detailed molded body, and a metal brake wheel. With a length of 10 ¾" and
a minimum radius of 0-27, this car will fit onto everyone's layout. Don't
miss out on this beautiful car!
